This toolkit has been developed to equip graduate students with practical information to help them find and secure a place to live. This includes information about the application process for private rental properties, as well as insider tips from graduate students themselves. Whether you are beginning your search or getting ready to move into a new home, this toolkit offers guidance for every stage of the process.

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is an independent, membership based, association that represents all graduate coursework and research students at the University of Melbourne.
With a 30-year history, and as the largest dedicated postgraduate association in Australia, GSA plays a vital role in advocating for student interests, fostering cohesive communities, and delivering year-round events, programs, development opportunities, and support to the graduate student community.

We’re located in the 1888 Building at the Parkville campus, conveniently next to Stop 1. If you’re not on campus, you can always reach out to us online. The GSA reception desk is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
